Jeridoo Production Company Canada is proud to share that Taming the Beast has been nominated in two feature-length documentary categories at the 2025 Leo Awards: Best Picture Editing and Best Sound.
These nominations recognise the outstanding teamwork and technical artistry that brought Eddie Hall’s story to the screen. Best Picture Editing Congratulations to Mike Jackson and Andrew Huculiak, whose editing wove together competition footage, personal interviews and archival material into a coherent, emotionally resonant narrative. Best Sound Our thanks go to Maverick Post Group for their music, sound effects and post-production sound services. Their meticulous audio design, from the clang of barbells to the quiet moments of reflection, immersed viewers in both the strongman world and Eddie’s mental health journey. We would also like to acknowledge Counting Ants Productions for their excellent production support throughout the project, and Mike Jackson once again for his exceptional editing work. Being shortlisted alongside other outstanding British Columbia productions is a tremendous honour. The Leo Awards celebrate excellence across our province’s screen industry and these nominations underscore the importance of every cut, every sound cue and every note of the score in telling a powerful story. As we await the announcement of winners, Jeridoo Production Company Canada remains committed to pushing the boundaries of documentary filmmaking.
